The Faculty of Arts and Sciences is located in Zonguldak, situated on the coast of Black Sea. The faculty was established in 1992 and has been offering courses at the main campus since 1993 with the Departments of Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, English Language and Literature, Turkish Language and Literature.The endeavors for the development of the academic staff of the Department of German Language and Literature, the Department of Psychology, the Department of Philosophy, the Department of Archeology, the Department of History continue. The Faculty of Arts and Sciences provides academic activities in two buildings of 14.700 m2 closed area, with 20 classrooms, 30 laboratories, 4 computer laboratories, 2 seminar rooms, a teleconference room and 59 faculty offices. Also, each building has a cafeteria.
Our vision is to be a faculty that conducts education, research and practice in national and international standards in fields of basic and human sciences.
Our mission at the faculty is to provide education, research and social tasks on basic and human sciences fields, within the frame of Atatürk’s principles and The Council of Higher Education’s principles. Also, it aims to educate individuals who contribute to science on national as well as international standards and who are interested in research, have self-confidence and are abided by scientific ethical rules, respecting contemporary social and scientific values.
Embracing the humanistic values, the students who are trained to keep abreast of the changes in their field will play a crucial role in the development of the country by incorporating new value systems. In line with this goal, the academic staff of the faculty strives to be amongst the leading faculty members in their fields.
